FAQ about RV services in Gatineau

This page gathers the most common questions about water leaks, maintenance, repair, pre-purchase inspection, and service areas around Gatineau.

How much does an RV inspection cost?

The price is $49.99 for an inspection in the workshop and $149.99 for an inspection on the road. The mobile rate includes a 40 km radius from the office. Contact us for travel farther away.

What do you mainly check during an inspection?

We mainly focus on seals, roof condition and signs of water intrusion. We also use a moisture meter in higher-risk areas.

Do you perform mechanical inspections?

No. We do not perform mechanical inspections. If your concern is mainly watertightness, see our RV inspection page. We do, however, offer brake maintenance at our shop only, with no mobile brake service.

Why replace RV seals?

Replacing wall seals, adding roof sealant where it is missing, and maintaining the membrane help preserve the watertight condition of the vehicle and reduce the risk of water intrusion before it causes more serious damage. See our RV maintenance page for the full service details.

What maintenance items matter most here?

Wall seals, roof areas where the sealant is missing or tired, the roof membrane, and other water-exposed points are among the most important items to maintain regularly. Depending on the file, we may also recommend a Rexoseal solution when it fits the roof or membrane.

Do you offer work with Rexoseal?

Yes, for selected roof and membrane files. Whether it is appropriate depends on the surface type, substrate condition, and the actual goal of the work. We first confirm that a Rexoseal approach truly fits the vehicle before recommending it.

Do you offer the service in shop or mobile?

Yes. We offer seal maintenance in shop or as a mobile service, depending on what works best for your situation.

What should I do if my RV has a water leak?

It should be checked quickly so the source can be confirmed. Start with an inspection when the cause is still unclear, or go directly to our RV repair page if damage has already reached the structure, floor, walls, roof membrane, or interior materials while also increasing the risk of mold.

Do you repair roofs and roof membranes?

Yes. We perform targeted roof and roof membrane repairs when appropriate, depending on material condition and how extensive the damage is. If you want to better recognize the signs first, see our RV water intrusion guide.

Do you handle insurance and private repairs?

Yes. We handle both insurance-based and private repairs depending on the nature of the damage and the needs of the file. You can see the scope on our specialized RV repair page.

Do you handle cleaning, polishing, and waxing for RVs?

Yes. See our RV and motorhome detailing page for cleaning, polishing, and waxing, with work confirmed in the workshop or on the road depending on the vehicle and assignment.

Is this service only available in the workshop?

Not always. For RVs and motorhomes, the assignment can be confirmed in the workshop or on location depending on the vehicle, the work involved, and access conditions. See our RV detailing page for details.

Is this the same offer as auto and truck detailing?

No. This page is dedicated to RV and motorhome detailing, with an approach adapted to larger vehicles and recreational-use needs.

Why inspect an RV before buying it?

A pre-purchase inspection helps detect watertightness, roof, system, or presentation issues that can influence the vehicle's actual value.

Which repairs are worth doing before selling an RV?

The most useful work is the work that clarifies the vehicle's condition, corrects major issues, and improves the general presentation without unnecessary overinvestment. Depending on the case, an inspection or RV detailing may be worth doing before selling.

Can you help if I am not sure whether to repair or sell?

Yes. This service is specifically meant to prioritize the corrections and better understand whether the vehicle deserves a full restoration, a quick sale, or a more gradual upgrade. See our RV buying and selling page for how we guide that decision.

What should I do if my RV has a water leak in Gatineau?

The first step is to confirm the source and the extent of the problem. Depending on the condition of the seals, roof, and affected materials, the best next step may be inspection, targeted maintenance, or repair.

Does a water leak always mean a major repair?

Not always. If the issue is caught early, seal maintenance or a targeted sealing correction may be enough. When walls, flooring, or finishes are already affected, repair is often required.

When should RV maintenance be done in Gatineau?

As soon as the seals start to age, the roof looks vulnerable, or before the season if you want to reduce the risk of water leaks and more expensive damage.

Does maintenance really help prevent water leaks?

Yes. Well-targeted seal, roof, and membrane maintenance helps preserve watertightness and keeps a minor weakness from becoming a much bigger problem.

Why request an RV inspection in Outaouais?

Inspection helps confirm the vehicle’s actual condition, detect moisture or water-intrusion signs, and guide the next step whether you are buying, repairing, or preparing for a sale.

Is inspection useful before repairs?

Yes. When the issue is not yet fully clear, inspection helps avoid going in the wrong direction and makes it easier to prioritize the right work.

When should I request RV repair in Ottawa?

When damage is already visible or confirmed, such as a soft floor, affected wall, damaged roof, or mold signs related to water.

Do you only repair the visible surface or also the cause?

Useful repair starts by confirming the cause. The goal is to correct the issue at the source before restoring the visible surfaces.

What should I do if my trailer shows signs of water intrusion in Laurentides?

The most useful first step is often inspection so moisture zones, roof condition, and seal quality can be confirmed before deciding whether maintenance or repair is needed.

Does every water-intrusion issue require immediate repair?

Not always. Some cases are better handled with preventive maintenance or targeted seal work, but the trailer’s actual condition needs to be confirmed first.

Do you only work in Gatineau?

Our workshop is based in Gatineau, but we also support clients from Outaouais, Ottawa, and the Laurentides depending on the type of request.

When should I book an inspection instead of a repair?

When the source of the issue is still unclear, inspection is often the right first step. When damage is already visible or confirmed, repair is usually the next move.
